Left 4 Dead 3 Mistakenly Shows Up In Valve Tutorial

Valve doesn't make video games anymore, right? Well, if a recent tease is anything to take seriously, then we might be seeing a major game from the company in the near future.

A tutorial for Valve's Destinations Workshop Tools had something a little extra for gamers this week. It was noticed by a member of the community that the tutorial page included a screenshot of one of Valve's PC directories, which listed "left4dead3". A folder called "turret" was also shown front and center in the screenshot.

This isn't the only thing that points toward a Left 4 Dead 3 being in development. In recent months Left 4 Dead 2 has been receiving a suspicious amount of updates, and known Valve employees have logged many hours in the game. I wouldn't call that normal for a seven year old game.

There was also the popular Valve office leak in 2013. If only we knew that we shouldn't have expected the game any time soon.

Valve has shifted its strategy during the past few years, moving away from a priority of game development to focus on the Steam platform and its many features. Most recently it partnered with HTC to bring the HTC Vive virtual reality headset to the market, but besides that the last time we saw a game debut from the studio was in July 2013's Dota 2. It's been a long, painful wait for many gamers, to say the least.
