Quantum Break Coming To PC, Has Highest System Requirements Of Any Game Ever Made

Quantum Break is confirmed to be coming to PC. Made better, consumer who pre-order the Xbox One version will receive the PC version at no additional cost. When playing across both versions save files can be easily accessed on both platforms, allowing for cross-platform play.

Xbox One pre-orders will also include Alan Wake with its two add-on packs and the American Nightmare expansion.

It should be noted that Quantum Break will only support Windows 10 on PC. The minimum and recommended specs are the following:

Minimum Requirements

OS: Windows 10 (64-bit)

DirectX: DirectX 12

CPU: Intel Core i5-4460, 2.70 GHz or AMD FX-6300

GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760 or AMD Radeon R7 260x

VRAM: 2GB

RAM: 8GB

HDD: 55GB available space

Recommended Specs

OS: Windows 10 (64-bit)

DirectX: DirectX 12

CPU: Intel Core i7 4790, 4GHz or AMD equivalent

GPU: NVIDIA GeForce 980 Ti or AMD Radeon R9 Fury X

VRAM: 6GB

RAM: 16GB

HDD: 55GB available space

The recommended specs have surprised many PC gamers, and are the most demanding of any game ever released on PC. The GeForce 980 Ti is priced at around $650, while the i7 4790 can be had for around $300, meaning you'll need a $1500+ PC in order to push the game to ultra settings when you factor in memory, a case, motherboard, and other components.

While these extreme recommended specs are a potential hurdle for those used to maxing out their games, they hint at Quantum Break being a game with the potential to push modern hardware to its limits, and a visual presentation that could become a new benchmark. Thankfully, the required specs are more modest and will allow more affordable mid-range rigs to play the game, albeit at lower settings.

Quantum Break is among the most anticipated games of 2016, and will release on April 5th.
