ModernWarfare3.com No Longer Battlefield 3 Fansite

Awww, damn it! It was all good fun… while it lasted. I mean, sure we've had our laughs, but when the company with the lawyers come knocking, it's time to pack it up and run home. That's the story here as Activision gains control over ModernWarfare3.com, the site renowned simply for redirecting its visitors to EA's official Battlefield 3 website.

While the site didn't forward visitors to the competing site throughout it's life, it didn't offer up some anti-Duty fanboy speak for any unwilling individual who happened to be caught up in the flame war. Fusible reports the site has been handed over to Activision from the original owner as ordered by the National Arbitration Forum. The NAF required that Activision prove the domain was registered and used in bad faith, that the domain was similar or identical to a copyright the company owned, and that the original owner had no rights, to all of which Activision said:

Have you seen the f***ing site?

EA has not had any involvement in the website's redirection and derision of Modern Warfare 3.
