So we beat the SNES classic platformer Donkey Kong Country on co-op mode here at Castle Hindman. The final battle is really interesting. It’s kinda easy to nail down King K. Rool’s pattern, but all the little moves are easier said than done, and I liked finally having a use for ducking. How often did that actually serve a purpose?
I don’t know how I forgot how fucking rad that ending music is. How did I not remember this? I suppose in a world where YouTube wasn’t a thing and game soundtracks were stupidly hard to buy (and overpriced), A.K.A. 1995, I might reasonably forget a music track that I only hear like three times ever.
I liked that Donkey and Diddy were mostly the same with some small differences. It made sure both of us were useful in every stage. Kept both players involved. Good game, that Donkey Kong Country.
