Naughty Dog Discusses Single-Player DLC for Uncharted 4

Earlier this week Naughty Dog announced that Uncharted 4: A Thief's End will include single-player DLC, a first for the series. Now the company is explaining the reasoning behind the decision.

As GameSpot reports, Naughty Dog Community Strategist Arne Meyer addressed the topic at the recent GameStop Expo. Apparently the Left Behind DLC for The Last of Us was a big influence.

"It worked really well for us for The Last of Us," he said. "We thought we could put together a really great piece of content as well [for Uncharted 4]. I think we rose to the challenge for The Last of Us, so we decided we're going to take another shot at it [for Uncharted 4]."

The Last of Us: Left Behind was a perfect example of single-player DLC done right. It added to the overall narrative but didn't feel like a piece of content removed from the core game. Hopefully Naughty Dog can replicate that success with its first single-player DLC for the Uncharted series.

Uncharted 4: A Thief's End is scheduled to come out on March 18, 2016 for the PlayStation 4.
