Shovel Knight Amiibo Figurine Officially Announced

Nintendo, at a special pre-PAX Nindies@Night event at the EMP Museum in Seattle, has announced that Shovel Knight will be getting his very own amiibo!

This figurine from Yacht Glub Games unlocks "exclusive features" for the critically-acclaimed homage to retro gaming, for which we awarded 5 perfect stars in our review July last year.

Players can use the amiibo to level up and customize Shovel Knight "with new visual enhancements, relics, and abilities" and these abilities can be used in "new, exclusive amiibo challenge levels."

The Shovel Knight amiibo was accidentally revealed earlier today by a since-deleted Tweet (above) from retailer GAME via @GameBrighton which revealed that the figure will be out November 27th this year and would be available for pre-order starting tomorrow at the retailer.

This amiibo reveal comes alongside news of Kerbal Space Program launching for Wii U early next year, debuts for Hive Jump and Fast Racing Neo.
