Square Enix is taking the obstacle course experience to a new level at San-Diego Comic-Con this year and placing it all within a self-described "outdoor beer garden." Nothing like a little bit of liquid courage, right?
On July 10-11 in downtown San Diego at 7th Avenue and Market Street, Square Enix will install three interactive courses (for fans 18 or older, if just because of the beer) inspired by Just Cause 3, Hitman, and Deus Ex: Mankind Divided.
The Just Cause 3 course will have attendees climb a 40-foot tower before being handed a rifle. Then while zip-lining down a 150-foot wire in 23 seconds, they must hit various marked targets to stand atop the leaderboard. The Hitman course has fans put on a red tie and head through a series of training stations at the mock ICA Training Academy, where you can win a free copy to Hitman Sniper. For a change of pace, the Deus Ex: Mankind Divided course has you competing against other players to gather bottles (meant to represent Neuropozyne… yeah, it's kind of a stretch) while maneuvering around obstacles.
Lara Croft fans can get their hands on an exclusive Lara Croft GO item, plus early access to the game, as well as snag a photo with cosplayer Nadyasonika in Croft's GO outfit.
Theater demonstrations for Deus Ex: Mankind Divided and Just Cuase 3 will be available at the Hyatt Xbox Gaming Lounge. Square Enix will be featuring "The Art and Story of Deus Ex: Mankind Divided" panel too on Saturday, July 11, from 3:30-4:30pm, which just happens to be one of the ten best gaming panels at Comic-Con 2015.
