Insomniac Details New Ratchet & Clank

It's been 13 years since Ratchet & Clank's first appearance on the PlayStation 2. Now Insomniac is revealing more details on the upcoming reboot of the series, simply titled Ratchet & Clank.

In a PlayStation Blog post, Insomniac describes the new Ratchet & Clank as more of a "re-imagining" of the 2002 original game. The narrative ties into the upcoming animated film and delves deeper into the events of the first series entry.

As for gameplay, Insomniac plans to introduces new planets, new boss fights, new flight sequences, and plenty of other important additions. Also, the developer explains that "the majority of the arsenal is made up of weapons that weren’t in the original game." Apparently the new equipment includes a Pixelizer, which turns enemies into explosive 8-bit pixels.

Fans can take a look at the brand new trailer here, or watch an extended look at gameplay above. Ratchet & Clank comes out for the PlayStation 4 in Spring 2016.
