Mighty No. 9 Gets Release Date, Partners With Deep Silver

Beckers, rejoice, as the Kickstarter smash Mighty No. 9 finally has a release date, and though it may be outside of the initial window, the delay brings some promising additions.

Keiji Inafune, the creator of Mega Man and head of comcept, the studio in charge of Mighty No. 9 has announced that the game will launch on September 15 in North America and September 18 worldwide. When it does so, it will be with new partners Deep Silver (the people behind the Saints Row series) at its side.

“This is a great opportunity for comcept,” Inafune said in a press statement today. “The partnership enables us to deliver Mighty No. 9 to a wider audience while adding some great extra value to the game. We are confident that the extra content will be worth the wait.”

That extra content stacks up to be mighty indeed: along with English, comcept will now also be able to add full voiceovers in Japanese and French, as well as full subtitles in Spanish, French, Italian, German, Russian, Polish, and Brazilian Portuguese.

The partnership also allows comcept to include the “Ray” DLC, which features an “epic battle” with baddie Ray, whose defeat leads to his addition as a playable character in the campaign, along with main character Beck and his gal pal Call. The DLC will be included in all physical media, which Deep Silver will lead the efforts for in regards to sales and marketing, and will be distributed for free digitally for anyone who backed the initial Kickstarter run, which brought in over 400% of the initial request.

Mighty No. 9 will launch for seventh- and eighth-gen consoles as well as PC, Mac and Linux; 3DS and PS Vita versions will launch “at a later date” digitally.
