Blizzard Announces Heroes of the Storm Release Date

Heroes of the Storm, an upcoming free-to-play MOBA developed by Blizzard, has already gone through alpha and closed beta stages. Now the game has on official release date: June 2.

Blizzard released a new launch trailer to celebrate the announcement. It includes plenty of familiar faces. In fact, the entire game is filled with popular Blizzard characters, such as Arthas Menethil and Sarah Kerrigan.

The game will enter an open beta period shortly before its release on May 19. It gives fans a couple weeks to test the game out before they decide to take the plunge.

Dota 2 and League of Legends currently have a stranglehold on the MOBA market, so it'll be interesting to see what kind of impact Heroes of the Storm makes when it comes out this summer.
