[Update] The existence of Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is now official, and developer Eidos Montreal has released an announcement trailer to mark the occasion.
Additional details about the game have also been revealed. Mankind Divided takes place two years after the events of Human Revolution and features Adam Jensen as the protagonist once again. He operates as a counter-terrorism agent and attempts to stop attacks that threaten to fuel the segregation of augmented individuals from the rest of society.
Players will travel across the globe much like Human Revolution, and Jensen has plenty of new augmentations at his disposal. Eidos Montreal promises more information in the coming months.
[Original] Square Enix has been using an alternate reality game to tease an upcoming announcement, but NeoGAF uncovered the secret early. According to a leak from a Russian website, the company plans to reveal Deus Ex: Mankind Divided.
Mankind Divided is a sequel to 2011's Deus Ex: Human Revolution. It's being developed for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. No other details are known at the moment.
The alternate reality game ends tomorrow, so Square Enix will likely prepare an official announcement for Deus Ex: Mankind Divided in the near future.
It's been four years since we last saw Adam Jensen in action, and I imagine fans are more than ready for a sequel to Human Revolution. Hopefully Deus Ex: Mankind Divided can replicate the success of the last main entry in the series.
