Miyamoto Focused on Wii U, Not Mobile

Despite the recent announcement of Nintendo's decision to develop games for mobile devices, the company's legendary game designer is steering clear of smartphone and tablet games… for now.

In an interview with TIME, Nintendo president and CEO Satoru Iwata explained, "As for any involvement of Mr. Miyamoto, we will discuss it when possible, but for now, understand that his priority is on the development of Wii U titles that will be launched this year."

We know Miyamoto has been working on a Star Fox title for Wii U, which is set for release later this year. Perhaps after development has wrapped on that project we'll see him either shift his focus to mobile game development or even a new project for the company's next dedicated console.
