Nintendo Looking to Release Smartphone Games This Year

Nintendo revealed just yesterday that it plans to create games for smartphones, and now, according to company president and CEO Satoru Iwata, it looks like they could be coming as early as this year.

"Regarding the individual video game titles, when it will be launched, we will be making the announcement when each of those games are ready," Iwata explained in a Q&A

"At least, however, we believe that there is no mean of collaboration [sic] if we can’t launch anything, at least once, or some sort of output within this year. Also, per game title, regarding the roles of each companies will differ depending on games."

Nintendo also announced earlier this week that it is working on a brand-new gaming console codenamed "NX." The company plans to reveal more information on this new piece of hardware in 2016.
