Valve has announced that it will be debuting new hardware at this year's Game Developers Conference.

Not only will the company showcase the latest version of its in-progress Steam controller, Valve will also unveil virtual reality hardware of its own as well as new devices for the living room.

"Steam is bringing the best games and user-generated content to exciting new destinations," the company announced. "At GDC 2015, we’ll be giving demos of the refined Steam Controller, new living room devices, and a previously-unannounced SteamVR hardware system."

With Oculus VR and Sony's Project Morpheus also expected to come to market sometime in the (hopefully) near future, do you think there's room for Steam's VR hardware? I guess we'll just have to wait until GDC to find out how compelling Valve's plans really are.
