Valve makes the upcoming sequel to Counter-Strike: Source official today with a Steam store landing page and an official announcement. Counter-Strike: Global Offensive will be coming to Xbox 360, PS3, and PC in 2012.
In addition to the release, platform, and naming, Valve has announced that tthey and developers Hidden Path Entertainment will be showing the game off in playable form at PAX Prime and the London Games Festival. GameRevolution will be at PAX Prime 2011 with hands-on impressions of the upcoming multiplayer shooter.
Valve, creators of best-selling game franchises and leading technologies, today announced Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS: GO). Target for release via PlayStation Network, Xbox Live Arcade, and Steam (for PC and Mac) in early 2012, CS: GO will expand upon the team-based action gameplay that it pioneered when it launched exactly 12 years ago. CS: GO features new maps, characters, and weapons and delivers updated versions of the classic CS content (de_dust, etc). In addition, CS: GO will introduce new gameplay modes, matchmaking, leader boards, and more.
