Zenless Zone Zero is out, and players are wondering if it has multiplayer functionality like co-op and PVP. Those wanting to experience MiHoYo’s latest game would prefer to do so with friends and wonder at what point multiplayer might be unlocked in the game. Unfortunately, the answer to this question is a bit surprising and will be sure to disappoint many new players.
Does Zenless Zone Zero have co-op multiplayer?
At launch, Zenless Zone Zero doesn’t have co-op. The game is centered around single-player gameplay, and there’s no drop-in multiplayer to let you party with friends. While the feature hasn’t been ruled out by the devs, we haven’t found any comments from them committing to adding co-op in the future.
There will be some limited multiplayer functionality in Zenless Zone Zero that allows you to play minigames with friends. Don’t expect anything too complex though.
Does ZZZ have PVP?
Zenless Zone Zero also doesn’t launch with PVP. However, the devs do plan to add a “battle mode” at some point that adds that functionality. However, there’s no release date for the feature, and we wouldn’t expect it to come anytime soon. Again, ZZZ is predominately a single-player game and multiplayer isn’t something MiHoYo is looking to support right now.
For now, players should focus on enjoying the rich single-player experience that Zenless Zone Zero offers. The game provides a deep narrative, intricate character development, and challenging combat mechanics that can keep you engaged for hours. If multiplayer features are critical to your gaming enjoyment, it may be worth keeping an eye on future updates from MiHoYo. They have a history of evolving their games post-launch, so co-op or PVP could be integrated some time later.
