Last Epoch Runemaster leveling build

Can’t Complete Last Epoch Desert Treasure Quest Bug Fix

Players encountering a bug preventing completion of the “Desert Treasure” quest in Last Epoch can breathe a sigh of relief. Players can now finish the quest and reap the rewards of the quest with these details of the issue, its solution, and why it might have occurred.

Is the Last Epoch Desert Treasure quest completion bugged?

The Desert Treasure quest bug in the Last Epoch arises after defeating the mini-boss within the Maj’erka Slums cave hideout. Here, a glowing scroll, presumably the hidden contract, appears. Clicking it removes the glow but fails to progress the quest. Reloading and refighting the boss prove ineffective.

The Fix

Thankfully, a solution exists within the cave itself. Look for an NPC named Scalebane Fence. He offers the information you seek for a fee of 5,000 gold. Paying him completes the quest.

Why the Bug Occurs

The reason for the bug is unknown, but the workaround allows you to proceed.

Rewards (Ignoring Bug)

Players get the following rewards for the Last Epoch Desert Treasure Quest if the game does not bug out:

  • 3,000 XP
  • 1 Passive Skill Point
  • Up to 3 Rare Idol slots

Actual Rewards (Due to Bug)

With the bug and the workaround to complete the quest, players do not get the Passive Skill Point and only gain the 3,000 XP.

While the quest completion might be bugged, you can still progress by finding the Scalebane Fence and completing the trade. In essence, if you find yourself stuck after acquiring the glowing scroll, simply locate Scalebane Fence and pay his fee to progress the quest and continue your Last Epoch adventure.
