Skull and Bones free to play

Skull and Bones: Is It Free To Play? Will It Go F2P?

Is Ubisoft’s new live service pirate game, Skull and Bones, free to play? Is there any chance for it to go F2P? These are common questions among gamers eager to try the new game, but who might not want to invest money outright for the chance to play. Here’s what you need to know about Skull and Bones and the free-to-play model.

Is Skull and Bones free to play?

Skull and Bones is free to play for eight hours, thanks to the trial offered by Ubisoft. However, after that 8-hour period ends, players must pay to play.

Essentially, Skull and Bones is free to play up until the point when it is not. Unlike other pure F2P titles, Skull and Bones eventually locks you out and demands payment.

Players have three options when it comes to paying money and playing the game. Players can opt for the Standard Edition which costs $59.99 and the Premium Edition at $89.99. The last option is the cheapest, at $17.99 per month, which grants players a membership with Ubisoft+.

The premium edition of Skull and Bones is included with Ubisoft+, which could appeal to gamers who need longer than eight hours to judge the game.

Will Skull and Bones go free to play?

No, it is highly unlikely for Skull and Bones to go fully free to play. As of now, there are no indications on the part of Ubisoft to make the entire game available for free.

Skull and Bones’ current model is a hybrid of free-to-play and paid-for, giving players an 8-hour trial to (hopefully) get them hooked, before asking for payment. While it’s possible that the game could eventually go free to play, Ubisoft has mentioned no plans for this, nor have there been any credible rumors or leaks indicating that this could be the plan.
