MW3 FOV Glitch Bug Fix Solution Field of View

MW3 FOV Glitch: How to Fix Wrong Field of View Bug

An awkward MW3 FOV glitch is impacting players during matches where their field of view abruptly changes without any particular reason. The FOV will suddenly change from whatever the player’s chosen setting is to 200 or another large number, making the ability to aim very difficult. From various reports of this FOV bug on YouTube and Twitter, it looks like this issue is mainly occurring on consoles, specifically Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS5, and PS4. This bug also seems to trigger more often if you enter a multiplayer match via helicopter, but this glitch can also happen in many other places. Here’s how to fix the field of view bug for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 on multiple platforms.

How to fix MW3 FOV glitch

The main method to fix this FOV glitch is to head to the settings and change the weapon FOV field back to its default setting.

Unfortunately, this is just a temporary workaround. Keeping the field of view slider on the default setting will help in some cases, but this may not prevent the bug from happening completely. It’s also difficult to change the FOV setting right in the middle of a match if you’re in an intense firefight. Between spawns or in a relatively safe area on the map, you can change your FOV settings there and hope that you experience the same FOV bug again.

Looking at the public Trello board for Modern Warfare 3, Sledgehammer Games have not specifically acknowledged this problem yet. The only card that mentions field of view is a bug where after an infiltration, the field of view can set much higher than expected. This seems to be at best a related issue to the general FOV glitch, so we can only hope that a fix for this known issue will also solve this FOV bug too.
