Hellboy Web of Wyrd Voice Actor: Is Lance Reddick in the Game?

The Hellboy Web of Wyrd voice actor has been a hot topic since the tragic passing of Lance Reddick. He was set to play the titular character, but he died well before the game’s release, making it a bit of a confusing scenario. Here’s who the Hellboy voice actors are in Hellboy Web of Wyrd.

Who is the voice actor in Hellboy Web of Wyrd?

Hellboy Web of Wyrd Voice Actor: Is Lance Reddick in the Game?

The Hellboy voice actor for Hellboy Web of Wyrd is still Lance Reddick for most of the game. He does many of the half-demon’s lines with his iconic voice. This includes many of combat barks and comic book-like cutscenes.

However, he does not do every Hellboy line. As noted by the game’s credits, actor Amuche Chukudebelu fills in for some of the Hellboy dialogue. Chukudebelu isn’t known for his video game work and seems to only have played a small role as some of the background characters in Grand Theft Auto 5. He’s credited as “additional Hellboy VO” in the credits underneath Reddick.

Most of Chukudebelu’s lines come at the very end of the campaign and will likely be pretty noticeable for most players, especially Destiny and Horizon fans who are used to Reddick’s distinct voice. However, there is some overlap in the endgame as the title switches from Chukudebelu to Reddick between conversations in the hub. Reddick still does the combat barks in the post-game runs, though.

Reddick passed away in March 2023, which was around seven months before Web of Wyrd’s release. The game’s official Twitter account released a statement passing on the studio’s condolences and confirmed that he would play Hellboy posthumously. The studio made no statement over Chukudebelu’s involvement. This wasn’t the case with other studios, as Destiny developer Bungie noted that Keith David would be replacing Reddick in its loot shooter franchise. However, Horizon studio Guerrilla Games stated it “hasn’t thought about” the series’ future without Reddick.
