Mortal Kombat: Onslaught Master Orbs look like the other orbs, but they are rather different. And, while not quite as universal, they have a specific and very valuable use. Here’s how to get blue Master Orbs in MK Onslaught.
How to get Master Orbs in MK Onslaught
To get Master Orbs in MK Onslaught, players can go down only a few different paths. New players can log in in order to get a few Master Orbs. There’s also a one-time welcoming bonus with blue orbs that will last until October 31, 2023.
Master Orbs, as their name implies, are much more rare than Skull Orbs. And as such, there seem to be far fewer free ways to get them reliably. While it is possible that they could show up in the Gong of Prosperity or daily quests down the line, they do not seem to have much prevalence there during launch. They don’t currently have a place in the lengthy achievement list or mission reward lists, either.
However, it is at least possible to get a lumpsum of Master Orbs by completing a bunch of daily quests as opposed to getting a few for just doing one daily quest. It remains to be seen if NetherRealm Studios will give players more ways to earn them for free in the future.
Master Orbs are prominently displayed in the shop, though. Like Skull Orbs, it is possible to exchange Krystals for them, but the exchange rate is twice as steep, making Master Orbs more expensive. There are also various bundles in the store that have Master Orbs as part of their offerings. But be careful, as not every bundle has them and they do look almost identical to Skull Orbs. The easiest way to narrow down these bundles is to go to the main menu and tap on the Master Orb icon, which will take you to the bundles with Master Orbs in them.
Skull Orbs are so valuable because they can be used to get the best summons. While they can’t be used for fighter, relic, or apprentice summons, they can be used for special limited-time ones.
