Rocket League Trading End Date When Removed Going Away Ending

Rocket League Trading End Date: When Will P2P Trading Be Removed?

The Rocket League trading end date is sooner than you might think. As announced by developer Psyonix, player-to-player trading will be going away and permanently removed to better match the policies of its publisher Epic Games. Eventually, all game cosmetics will become items that cannot be traded, transferred, or sold in any way within the game. As such, you will want to cash in any of your items sooner than later if you’re into the trading economy. Here’s when P2P trading will be ending in Rocket League for PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo platforms.

What is the Rocket League trading end date?

The end date for player-to-player trading is December 5 at 4 pm PST / 7 pm EST.

Players with duplicate or unwanted items are able to use the Trade-In system to receive new random items. This December 5 deadline will effectively end any websites or services that are meant to facilitate trading. In fact, Psyonix and Epic Games consider these sites “fraudulent” in the FAQ and have made it clear that they have no official affiliation with any of them.

Any trades you’ve made in the past or until the end date will still be valid. We recommend getting your items back if you decided to lend them out to friends.

The reaction to this trading end date has shocked the community. The official thread on this announcement on the Rocket League Reddit is full of comments saying their farewells to the popular Rocket League Garage and believing that this move is just a money grab by the publisher and developer.

In defense, Psyonix states that a part of the reason for this change is that it “opens up future plans for some Rocket League vehicles to come to other Epic games over time, supporting cross-game ownership.”

It’s unclear how this will impact the Swap Meet achievement or trophy that asks players to trade and receive items from another player in a transaction. But it will likely be removed or changed to something else.
