AC Mirage How to Eavesdrop on the Guards in Follow Nur’s Lead

Knowing how to eavesdrop in Assassin’s Creed Mirage is crucial not only for some missions, but also an understated part of being a Hidden One. This is, as has been the case with many elements in Mirage, a callback to the original game, too. Here’s how to eavesdrop in AC Mirage, and, more specifically, eavesdrop on the guards in “Follow Nur’s Lead.”

How to eavesdrop in AC Mirage

AC Mirage How to Eavesdrop on the Guards in Follow Nur’s Lead

To eavesdrop in AC Mirage, you have to get into the right position and hit specific criteria before it will trigger. While it was possible in other Assassin’s Creed games to merely be inside of the “ring” and listen to conversations, you have to be in a spot Mirage designates as the “listening” spot.

In order to do this, you will have to find a bench, closet, or bale of hay to hide in. You also need to do this stealthily, as alerting guards or causing any sort of ruckus will wreck any notion of eavesdropping silently.

For example, in the “Follow Nur’s Lead” mission that has you looking for Ali’s whereabouts, you have to sneak into the Khurasan Gate Guardhouse and look for the two guards standing next to each other with an orange icon near them. Then dive into the bale of hay a little behind them. Look at the guards and you should get a button prompt to listen in (on consoles, it is R3). Once you do that, Basim will listen in and this step of the mission will be done.

This specific example is only applicable to this early quest, but the constants are the same. Just be sure to look for a hiding spot near two guards in the ring that designates the area you need to be in. You can’t just simply stand behind a wall and eavesdrop; it has to be in a certain spot. You may even find a hiding spot in that ring, but it has to be one spot in particular, so be sure to search around if one doesn’t work.
