Darktide Change Appearance Character Creation Warhammer 40K Can You Alter

Warhammer 40K Darktide Change Appearance: Can You Alter Avatar After Character Creation?

The Warhammer 40K Darktide change appearance feature is something players both new and old are wondering about. When the game first launched last year, you couldn’t alter your avatar’s face or body after character creation. This meant that you had to spend time going through all the customization options at the start of the game. Since then, though, developer Fatshark has updated this online co-op multiplayer game with plenty of new features and updates, notably the recent Patch 13 that overhauls the gameplay so thoroughly that it might as well be a new game. Here’s whether you can change your character’s appearance in Darktide on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.

Is there a Warhammer 40K Darktide change appearance option?

Yes, you can can change your character’s appearance by heading to the barber named Oska Krall, which is right across from the armory in the main hub.

More Guides

That said, Krall cannot change everything about your character, so there are some options during character creation that you’ll want to pay attention to. He cannot alter your avatar’s backstory, voice, height, sex, or name. If you didn’t choose Cadia as your character’s home planet, then you won’t be able to select a few options for eye color.

Otherwise, you can change everything else, including your character’s face, hairstyle, facial hair style, and skin color. Essentially, think of Krall as a plastic surgeon and beautician all in one.

If you’re playing the game on PC and you’ll alright with using mods, there is a mod called Height Change available on Nexus Mods that does what it says. It’s unclear if it’s compatible with the latest patch, but it seems like it should be from user comments on the mod on October 3. Actually, height does impact your point of view in first-person, so we recommend changing it for gameplay purposes if you’re into optimization.
