Monster Hunter Now Monsters List

Monster Hunter Now Monsters: List of Large and Small Monsters

The current list of Monster Hunter Now monsters is short and sweet, at least when compared to the main Monster Hunter games. The game categorizes monsters into two types: large and small. Small monsters are fairly easy to defeat and should only take a few taps on the screen to dispatch. Large monsters, on the other hand, are the bread and butter of the game, with numerous daily quests and story missions that ask you to take down these dinosaur-like foes. Here’s a list of monsters in MH Now.

Monster Hunter Now Monster list

There are 13 known monsters in Monster Hunter Now, with 8 of them being large monsters and the other 5 being small monsters, as sorted below alphabetically:

  • Anjanath
  • Barroth
  • Diablos
  • Kulu-Ya-Ku
  • Legiana
  • Great Jagras
  • Great Girros
  • Jyuratodus
  • Paolumu
  • Pukei-Pukei
  • Rathalos
  • Rathlan
  • Tobi-Kadachi

None of these enemies so far have the dragon element, which hints that a dragon monsters will likely come later in the pipeline for the game. Every foe has an elemental weakness of some kind, and anywhere from two to five distinct breakable parts. Honing in on a breakable part, like the head, forelegs, or tail, will provide you with some extra monster parts.

More Guides

Every monster can drop seven different types of materials, but you’ll need to find monsters of a higher star rating to get higher rarity items. Each monster has two “Rarity 1” materials it can drop and then one material at each rarity from “Rarity 2” to “Rarity 6”. You will need to slay 2-star version of a monster for a chance to receive a “Rarity 3” material, a 4-star version for a “Rarity 4” material, a NG+ 1-star version for a “Rarity 5” material, and a NG+ 3-star version for a “Rarity 6” material.

By NG+, we mean new game plus. And yes, after you beat all of the story missions, you can restart the campaign again to unlock even harder versions for each monster. But with the Rarity 5 and 6 materials that drop from them, you can upgrade your weapons even further.
