Starfield Creation Club Release Date Mod Support When

Starfield Creation Club Release Date: When Is Mod Support Coming for PC and Xbox?

The Starfield Creation Club release date is something Bethesda fans are both interested and concerned about. Official mod support through Creation Club was featured in Fallout 4 and Skyrim, so many players expect that Starfield’s version of mod support will arrive eventually for PC, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One. Starfield mod support did not come bundled with the game at launch, which only makes sense since modders need time to figure how best to tweak the game and Bethesda needs time to figure out which mods are the most popular. Here is the most likely release date of Creation Club mod support for Starfield.

What is the Starfield Creation Club release date?

[Update] The Starfield Creation Club release date is early 2024, as confirmed by Bethesda.

This is surprisingly much earlier than our original forecast of Fall 2024, but they verified the “early next year” release window in a post on the game’s official website. This built-in mod support will officially be called Creations. The original story follows below.

[Original] The Starfield Creation Club release date is officially 2024, though we speculate it to be Fall 2024.

In an September 2023 interview with Famitsu, Bethesda’s Todd Howard stated that mod support for Starfield would be “available next year” and that the developer will be doing it “in a big way.” That said, 2024 is a rather vague release window, given that could mean it’s coming in less than four months or in more than a year from now.

More Starfield

We believe that Fall 2024 is a conservative estimate given that it took Bethesda about a year to include Creation Club for Skyrim Special Edition. For exact dates, Skyrim Special Edition released in October 28, 2016 and Creation Club mod support for the game was published on October 4, 2017. Given that Starfield launched on September 6, 2023, we think that August or September 2024 wouldn’t follow the pattern.

Bethesda will have its hands full working on polishing and releasing Starfield DLC before that happens. This includes the Starfield Shattered Space DLC, the first story expansion for the game that was announced during the June 2023 Starfield showcase.

The game still doesn’t have a storyline featuring House Va’ruun faction, there’s no ability to pilot mechs, and the mystery of the Artifacts, Powers, and new game plus haven’t been explained yet. So there’s plenty of material that the game can expand on before official Creation Club mod support is released.

This estimate comes from comparing the timeline between the launch of Skyrim Special Edition and the introduction of its Creation Club mod support.

Q: Did Starfield include mod support at its launch?

This was an intentional move by Bethesda, as modders require time to understand the best ways to modify the game, and Bethesda needs to determine which mods gain the most popularity among players.

Q: What additional content is Bethesda planning to release before the Creation Club mod support for Starfield?

A: Before the official Creation Club mod support is out, Bethesda will be focusing on enhancing Starfield with additional content.
