Baldur's Gate 3 Chamber of Justice Puzzle Solution BG3

Baldur’s Gate 3 Chamber of Justice Puzzle Solution in Ansur’s Lair

The Baldur’s Gate 3 Chamber of Justice in Ansur’s Lair features a puzzle that’s quite tough to figure out. Around a statue of Balduran, there are paintings on the walls and on several pedestals, in addition to a central platform that has a judge and a lot of black smoke. Looking at the paintings will tell a story about a intriguing man. Meanwhile, the statue asks you to figure out a riddle and place the correct painting on the dias as the solution. You’ll need to complete this trial to proceed further in the dungeon. Here’s how to solve the Chamber of Justice puzzle in BG3.

How to solve Baldur’s Gate 3 Chamber of Justice puzzle

You can perform the following steps to solve the Chamber of Justice puzzle:

  1. Interact with the statue of Balduran to start the puzzle
  2. Cast Remove Curse on the Judge to get rid of the black mist surrounding the central platform and the paintings
  3. Pick up the painting called “The Cell”
  4. Click on the empty dias to bring up a pop-up window that asks you “Insert Item”
  5. Go to your inventory and drag “The Cell” painting into the window, and click “Insert”

That’s all you need to do to complete the Chamber of Justice trial.

There are variations of this solution as well. Instead of casting Remove Curse on the Judge, you can also use Banishment or another spell that forces the spirit out. You can also choose to cast Remove Curse on the three paintings on the central platform, but that just uses extra spell slots.

You can also attack the paintings instead, which triggers a fight with more than a dozen enemies. Defeating them will technically clear the puzzle, though the battle will take awhile to beat. You will gain some XP for killing them, though, so it’s up to you whether that’s worth the trouble.
