Remnant 2 Final Boss Bug Glitch

Remnant 2 Final Boss Bug: How to Fix Ending Glitch

A game-breaking Remnant 2 final boss bug is forcing players to start the campaign all over again. There are several bugs that involve the final boss of the game, but this glitch in particular is quite severe, similar to the bug with negative trait points. Many players report that after defeating the first phase of the boss, the ending glitches out, with the game thinking that they have beaten it. Players even get the achievement for killing the final boss, even though they really didn’t.

This bug can also reportedly occur if players die during the second phase of the boss and return to the fight. However, the boss doesn’t spawn or goes missing for some reason. Here are some solutions that you can use to fix this fatal final boss bug in Remnant 2.

How to fix Remnant 2 final boss bug

The following are some steps you can use to fix the final boss bug:

  • Unequip Plasma Cutter – To prevent this bug from happening in the first place, try defeating the final boss without the use of the Plasma Cutter. This weapon has been singled out as a possible cause for this glitch.
  • Restore a prior save – If you’re playing on PC, Remnant 2 creates backups of your saves as you play the game. These files can be found in the Steam folder for the game and has the file extension endings “.bak1”, “.bak2”, and “.bak3”. The “.bak1” file represents the most recent backup save. If you rename one of these files to “profile.sav” and “save_0.sav”, it will store your game to an prior version of your playthrough.

Worse case scenario, you’ll need to re-roll the entire campaign to fix your save. It’s still possible to jump into a friend’s game and beat the final boss to earn the items for finishing the game. But your world will continue to be bugged until developer Gunfire Games is able to fix this glitch.
