Diablo 4 Resource Draining Effects: How to Stop Them in Season 1

Diablo 4 resource draining effects have been added to Season 1, and it’s frustrating many players with how troublesome they are. The new resource draining affix is usually found on Nightmare Sigils that modify Nightmare Dungeons with the effect. Most effective builds rely on resources and resource generation, whether it’s Mana for the sorcerer, Fury for the barbarian, or Spirit for the druid. So getting it cut continuously can make completing the dungeon very difficult, especially if it’s full of long-range enemies. Here are some ways to stop, prevent, or minimize resource draining effects in Diablo 4.

How to stop or prevent Diablo 4 resource draining effects

The following are some methods to stop resource draining effects in Season 1:

  • Find Determination Malignant Hearts – This Devious-type Malignant Heart can be found by killing corrupted enemies or finding the right type of Overgrowth in the Malignant Tunnels. Once the Determination Malignant Heart is embedded in jewelry, it will cut resource effects from 40% to 50% while increasing Resource Generation by 3% to 8%.
  • Not using the Nightmare Sigil in the place – If you find a Nightmare Sigil with the resource draining effect as an affix, there’s no reason why you need to use it. You can always salvage the sigil at the occultist for some sigil powder instead and hope to get aa Nightmare Sigil without the affix.

From the looks of it, you can stack the Determination Malignant Heart multiple times. So if you really want to stop resource draining effects altogether, you can grab jewelry with slots for devious malignant hearts and save them for the Nightmare Dungeon.

Beyond that, this heart is not a particularly bad choice to keep around since increased resource generation is good for nearly all builds. You’ll also find malignant Corrupted enemies that will drain resources with their attacks too, so having one slotted in your jewelry will mitigate this.
