The Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Shiny Gimmighoul as part of a new Tera Raid event was revealed as a surprise. The Shiny Chest Form Gimmighoul was revealed during the latest Nintendo Direct on June 21, 2023, but it will only be around for a limited time. This is also the first appearance of this shiny Pokemon in the game, so there’s a lot of pressure for players to capture it to complete their Pokedex. Here’s how to get the rare Shiny Gimmighoul in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
How to get Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Shiny Chest Form Gimmighoul
You can get the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Shiny Chest From Gimmighoul by finding it during a 5-star Tera Raid Battle during a special Tera Raid Battle Event. At the time of writing, the event is live, but the end date is Sunday, July 2, 2023 at 4:59 pm PDT / 7:50 pm EDT.
You will need to complete the full story campaign of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet before you have access to 5-star Tera Raid Battles. Once you manage to get into one, there’s a small chance that the Shiny Chest Form Gimmighoul will appear. This Pokemon does not appear during regular gameplay and normally requires Gimmighoul Coins to evolve it.
That said, we’re not sure what the odds are for this shiny version of this Pokemon to appear. Most shiny odds in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are somewhere between 1 in 20 to 1 in 100, but hopefully during this event, the odds will be raised in the background.
You need to download the latest Poke Portal News to be a part of this special Tera Raid Battle Event. If you don’t already have this, you can download it from by choosing PokePortal from the X menu, going to Mystery Gift, and checking Poke Portal News. You will not need a Nintendo Switch Online membership to access it.
You can also enter the password “TREASUREHUNT” in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet to earn 10 Nugget, 10 Rare Candy, and 1 Friend Ball. This can be redeemed through Monday, July 31, 2023, at 7:59 am PDT / 10:59 am EDT.
