Diablo 4 can't enter town invisible barrier bug

Diablo 4 Can’t Enter Towns Invisible Barrier Bug

One the more frustrating bugs in Diablo 4 prevents you from entering towns. When you reach a town, an invisible barrier keeps you from going further, which can halt your game progression. Unfortunately, the fixes for this glitch are inconsistent, and we can only speculate on the cause.

Can I fix the Diablo 4 invisible barrier keeping me from entering city glitch?

If you find yourself unable to enter a town in Diablo 4 due to an invisible barrier, there are a few fixes you can try:

  • Enter the city from another way.
  • Fast travel to another waypoint and walk back.
  • Log out and log back in.
  • Restart the game.

None of these fixes worked for me consistently. I ran into this bug a few times while playing, and it rarelye worked the same way twice.

The first time I encountered the invisible barrier, I was able to walk around to the second entrance and get in just fine. The second time, the barrier refused to budge until I fast-traveled away and made the trek back. Then, I was able to enter without issue. However, I couldn’t enter the city the third time, no matter what I tried.

Oddly, this bug can occur when the game is otherwise working perfectly. It can also happen outside of towns, and you’ll can sometimes abruptly hit a barrier when entering a new region in the field.

As for what causes the issue, we can only speculate. The game may time out when connecting to a new instance, leaving you in the old one. Other times this is a symptom that the servers are having issues and may have gone down.

In the end, the only fix for the invisible barrier bug in Diablo 4 is to keep trying to enter the affected area. Eventually, you’ll make it through; it might just take some time and frustration first.
