Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Teach Me a Lesson 1 Quest

Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Teach Me a Lesson 1 Puzzle Solution

The Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Teach Me a Lesson 1 quest has a fairly straightforward solution. Starting the quest requires that you talk to Symin at the schoolhouse in Hateno Village in the evening and then attend the morning class. He tries to convince the students about The Calamity, which started the events of Breath of the Wild before TotK, but they doubt why they should learn about it in the first place. Symin then asks you to take a picture with the camera to provide proof that it happened. Here’s how to complete the Teach Me a Lesson 1 quest in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Teach Me a Lesson 1 quest solution

The solution to the Teach Me a Lesson 1 quest is to travel to Kakariko Village and snap a shot of the mural depicting The Calamity.

From the fast travel point in Kakariko Village, find the chief’s house and head up the stairs. Then ascend to the second floor, enter the room, and turn around to see a rather plain biege mural in a wooden frame. You can also look at the image above for an exact picture of what to look for.

The mural is very easy to miss because of how bland it looks compared to the rest of the objects in the house. It just looks like a bunch of lines on some parchment, framed next to a basic cabinet.

That said, once you’ve found it, use the camera and take a snapshot of the mural. A red exclamation point next to the words “Screen depicting the Calamity” should pop up, indicating that this is the picture you’re looking for to complete the mission.

Save it and then head back to Hateno School from around 9 am to 2 pm. Speak with Symin, and a short cutscene will play with him revealing the picture you took to the students. This will reward you a bunch of Hylian Rice and also lead you down the questline to start farming in the game.
