Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Statue of the Eighth Heroine Solution: How to Activate Crystal

The Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Statue of the Eighth Heroine has a locked room that is difficult to access if you’re not sure of the solution. The statue signifies a Gerudo hero that has been lost to time, but the treasure waiting inside will aid Link in his adventure. As such, the statue can be discovered around the Gerudo Desert and is located around coordinates -4366, -0454, 0470. But the large green hexagonal crystal embedded in the side of the rock face can be tough to activate. Here’s how to open the door guarded by the Statue of the Eighth Heroine in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

How to solve Statue of the Eighth Heroine puzzle

The solution to opening the door at the Statue of the Eighth involves using a mirror to reflect a beam of light toward the crystal.

In perhaps a throwback to The Spirit Temple in Ocarina of Time, you’ll need to deflect sunlight onto the green crystal for it to activate. The statue is sadly placed in an area where the crystal can’t get any sunlight, but fortunately along the western side of the statue is a platform that has three Mirror Zonai Devices. You’ll only need one of them to solve the puzzle, but it’s nice the game gives you a few reserves.

Once you have a mirror, you need to reach a platform nearby that can catch sunlight. This means that you’ll need to wait until about 11am or 12pm in the game before you can start fiddling around. At around that time, you’ll need to plop down the mirror and adjust the angle of it until a beam of light forms and hits the central crystal. At that point, the crystal will shine yellow, unlocking the door above it.

None of the enemies inside are all that tough, just a few Gibdos. The treasure chest inside will reward Link with a Tingle’s Hood. It’s not very useful armor, but it’s worth grabbing anyway for the collection. There’s also a Bubbul Frog here in case you need the extra Bubbul Gem.
