Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Mired in Muck Solution: How to Free Bazz

The Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Mired in Muck side quest can be difficult to solve if you’re not sure of what the game is asking you to do. This mission is found near the Upland Zorana Skyview Tower where a Zora named Bazz is stuck in some brown and purple muck, and asks Link to free him from the sludge. If you can’t find him in TotK, he’s located at around coordinates 2844, 0585, 0376. Similar to the Decorate With Passion quest, this task requires that you think outside of the box a little, since you can’t carry water to him. Here’s the solution to the Mired in Muck quest in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

What is the Mired in Muck quest solution?

To free Bazz in the Mired in Muck quest, the solution is to use a Splash Fruit or the Hydrant Zonai Device.

Between the two, the Splash Fruit is the easier solution since there are several quite close to Bazz. All you need to do is fuse the Splash Fruit with a weapon or an arrow, and then use it on the muck surrounding the Zora. Or you can just hold it in your hand and throw them like water balloons. Either way, the impact of the fruit will unleash enough water so that the guck will rinse off Bazz and release him from the sticky goop.

Otherwise, you can also use the Hydrant Zonai Device and simply point it directly at Bazz to clear the muck in an instant. You may want to save the hydrant for areas where you need to turn lava into stone pathways, but it’s a good use of the device regardless.

As a reward, Bazz will award Link with a Zora Spear that has a base damage of 6, but increases in power when it’s wet. You’ll need to make sure you have an open slot or you can’t take the spear and complete the quest.
