zelda tears of the kingdom can master sword break

Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom: Can the Master Sword Break?

The Master Sword in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom breaks in the game’s first cutscene, but you can recover it during your adventures, just like in Breath of the Wild. But does it durability reduce to the point of it breaking once you retrieve it? Here’s what you need to know.

Does the Master Sword break in Tears of the Kingdom?

The Master Sword loses durability but cannot break. When its durability is expended, the Master Sword will be unusable for ten minutes. After it has recharged its energy, you can use it as normal again.

You can also extend the durability of the Master Sword with the Fuse power. Items can be attached like other weapons, but when the Master Sword runs out of energy, they will break. Attaching items with Fuse will also give the Master Sword more damage or extra abilities, and you can unfuse items like any other weapon.

The Master Sword is extremely powerful, but there are plenty of other useful weapons in the game. However, these will break when durability is depleted, but fortunately, you can use this Octorok trick to fix weapons.

Once you’ve got the Master Sword, you may want to get Link’s horse Epona. Acquiring the famous horse isn’t as easy as regular horses, but luckily we have a guide to walk you through the process.
