Is Zelda a dragon in Tears of the Kingdom?

Zelda becomes the Light Dragon in Tears of the Kingdom. She takes this form by swallowing a secret stone to deliver the restored Master Sword to Link.

The Light Dragon roams the borders of Hyrule and has the Master Sword embedded in her forehead. You’ll need to land on Zelda/Light Dragon to pull the Master Sword, which can only be done with two full Stamina Wheels.

If you’re struggling to find the Light Dragon, complete the quest “Recovering the Hero’s Sword,” which can be started by heading to the Great Deku Tree. This will mark the Light Dragon on your map, making her much easier to find.

Zelda doesn’t stay as a Light Dragon for the entire game. After the final battle, she will turn back into a Hylian thanks to Rauru and Sonia’s power. But she will assist in the final battle against the Demon King in her Light Dragon form.
