Redfall PC Performance Fix

Redfall PC Performance Fix: How to Increase FPS and Stop Stuttering

Redfall PC performance is poor at the moment, with many users on Steam reporting low FPS and general frame rate stuttering. This is despite players having the specs noted by Bethesda and Arkane Studios for recommended and ultra specifications. The developers have mitigated some of these problems with a substantial update specifically meant to address PC issues on May 2, but several users are still experiencing problems. Here are some ways that you can improve overall performance in Redfall on PC.

How to improve Redfall PC performance

The following are some methods you can try to improve Redfall PC performance, increase FPS, and remove stuttering:

  1. Reduce Effects Quality, Texture Quality, and Foliage Quality to Medium
  2. Lower Post Processing Quality, Shading Quality, Shadow Quality, and View Distane Quality to Low
  3. Change Upscaling to DLSS, Performance, or Ultra Performance
  4. Toggle on Windows Game Mode through Windows Settings
  5. Try keeping the game on Fullscreen, turning off VSYnc, and making the Field of View about 90.
  6. If you have an Nvidia GPU, you can head to the Nvidia Control Panel. In the 3D settings, you can change Redfall’s Power Management Mode to “Prefer Max Performance.” Optionally, you can turn Texture Filtering to “Max Performance.”
  7. Upgrade to Windows 11 if possible. This operating system is what most developers use to test and build their games. Windows 10 isn’t the most optimized for multi-threaded operations.
  8. Update your drivers. This isn’t just for your Nvidia or AMD GPU (though that’s certainly the most important piece of hardware), but also for your other devices and components.

We also recommend checking the official specs from Bethesda itself and comparing them to your rig. Depending on how they compare, you may need to drop some of these graphics options to an even lower level on PC.
