Resident Evil 4 Remake Unlock Village Chief’s Manor Door: How to Open the Door with Round Slot

You’ll need to unlock the Village Chief’s Manor Door to progress in Resident Evil 4 remake. It’s a door with a round slot, but when you first find it, you likely won’t have anything in your inventory that’ll fit in it. Fortunately, the means to open the door is very close.

Resident Evil 4 remake Village Chief Manor Door With Round Slot Crystal Ball

To unlock the door in the Village Chief’s Manor in Resident Evil 4 remake, you need to find the Crystal Ball. It’s this item that fits in the round slot and enables you to open the path to Mendez’s bedroom.

To find the Crystal Ball, you must head downstairs from the door and look for a padlocked cabinet. Once you enter the code, you can open it up and grab the Crystal Ball.

Return upstairs and insert the Crystal Ball into the round slot. You will be given a puzzle that you must solve. If you played the original Resident Evil 4, you’d recognize this as a variation of the puzzle you had to complete to get into Mendez’s room.

It’s a pretty simple puzzle to figure out. Just rotate the ball until it matches the image in the background, which is the symbol of the Los Iluminados cult. Once you do, the door will unlock, and you can enter the room and grab the Insignia Key from the desk drawer.
