Scream 6 has finally made its way to theaters across the globe, which has those hunting for spoilers looking for exactly who is the Ghostface killer in the franchise’s sixth installment. With the horror movie series making its return, the Scream 6 killer has been revealed.
Please note that there are full spoilers for the Scream 6 movie included in this article. If you want to go into Scream 6 without having the killer reveal spoiled, do not read any further.
Who is the killer in Scream 6?
Jason, Ethan, Quinn, and Detective Bailey are all unmasked as Ghostface in Scream 6, and are the killers in this latest slasher movie. Jason’s friend Greg is also revealed to be a wannabe Ghostface killer, though it is unclear if he has ever actually put on the mask and killed anybody.
While Jason makes the first kill in Scream 6 and rushes back home to tell his friend Greg, he quickly goes from hunter to hunted. A different Ghostface brings his attempt at carving out a legacy to a halt, and it is revealed that both Greg and Jason were obsessed with Scream 5 killer, Richie, and wanted to complete the film he was working on by murdering the Carpenter sisters.
Richie is also the motive for Ethan, Quinn, and Detective Bailey’s murderous rampage. They are revealed to be Richie’s brother, sister, and father respectively, and are seeking revenge against Sam Carpenter for her vicious takedown and slaying of Richie once he was unmasked as Ghostface in Scream 5.
Despite Quinn seemingly being killed off by Ghostface earlier on in the movie, Detective Bailey reveals that he was able to have the body switched out for another one. This allowed her to slip by undetected and get off the suspect list early on, which was especially helpful when Mindy was pointing out just how likely it was she and Ethan were the killers, due to their supposed “random” roommate lottery luck with Tara and Chad.
In the end, all of the Ghostface killers are killed by those they are hunting. Quinn is shot in the head by Sam, while Ethan is stabbed in the mouth by Tara, and finished off by Kirby when she launches the same television set at his head that killed original Ghostface killer, Stu. Detective Bailey, meanwhile, is killed when he is stabbed repeatedly by Sam, before she delivers the fatal blow through one of his eyes.
