The Finals Beta Release Time and End Date: When Is the Playtest on PC?

The Finals, a new and explosively anticipated competitive FPS shooter has finally offered players beta access to the game, with its release time and PC playtest window already revealed.

Developers Embark Studios and Nexon, of ex-Battlefield pedigree, are hoping to test the current build of the game by letting players get their hands on the current build to see if their new dynamic arena and gameshow-based FPS — previously codenamed Project Discovery — can hold a candle to its competitors.

When is The Finals beta playtest start and end date and time?

The Finals beta is already available for sign-up, having opened up applications today, March 7. The Finals gameplay playtest will run until March 21, 2023.

The beta will be available soon, with it set to go live within the hour of 4 AM PT/7 AM ET). Those who have signed up will be informed if they have access.

On its official Discord server, Embark said that it is going to slowly ramp up the number of invites sent out over the next few hours and days. This will mean that if you don’t receive an immediate invite, you still might receive one as the beta progresses.

How to play The Finals beta

To get access to the beta, do the following:

  1. Open Steam and head to The Finals’ Steam Store page.
  2. Scroll down look for “The Finals Playtest”, then click on Request Access.
  3. Wait for an email with your Steam key to access the beta.

The playtest will be run as a closed beta, so not everyone will have access to play during this period. The Finals is slated for a 2023 release window, but who knows how the beta test could affect things?
