Is Loki in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania?

Now that Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania has hit theaters worldwide, Marvel fans are beginning to talk about the movie and everything that happens in it. With two post-credits scenes, one during mid-credits and one right after, discussions have turned to the details surrounding those moments. Is Loki a part of either of them, and is the Trickster in the movie at all?

Loki does appear in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Though he isn’t a part of the main story, and it takes until the post-credit scene for him to show up, he can be seen alongside Mobius from the time Variance Authority, watching Victor Timely give a rousing speech.

“Time is everything,” says Victor. “It shapes our lives. But, perhaps, we can shape it.” He is talking as part of a science presentation, in the early 19th century. When the spotlight lands on him, it becomes clear that this is another Kang variant.

“It’s him,” Loki says to Mobius as they sit in the audience, who responds jokingly that he “made him sound like this terrifying figure.” Loki tells him simply, “he is,” before the post-credit scene cuts to black and ends. It’s an eerie path for the future, but a necessary one.

This serves as the perfect set up to Loki Season 2, which is expected to land on Disney Plus at some point later this year. No exact date has yet been made official, but the middle of 2023 is when the series is supposedly set to make its comeback. Now that we’ve seen Loki and Mobius in search of Kang, following his devastating warning in the Loki Season 1 finale, we know a little of what we can look forward to when new episodes arrive.
