Pokemon Go Quick Catch is as valuable as ever in 2023, with players wondering how to perform the move in order to speed up catching Pokemon in the mobile game. Given that there are plenty of Pokemon-centric events keeping players occupied as ever, there’s so little time to be waiting for each and every Poke Ball to wobble up to three times, to which clever Trainers have devised a tricky but very reliable Quick Catch method to skip any long catching times.
Pokemon Go Quick Catch method: How to skip catching animations
Unless you’re particularly dextrous or nimble with your fingers, it’s first important to note that you’ll likely need two hands to pull this trick off, as it will require one hand sliding with one finger and the second hand throwing the ball.
Here’s how to Quick Catch in Pokemon Go in 2023:
- Locate a Pokemon you want to Quick Catch, and hold your finger on the bottom right, over the Pokeball menu. With the same finger, slide it over to the far left where your berries would be, and hold it there.
- With your other hand, throw the ball as you usually would until the Poke Ball makes contact and attempts to capture the Pokemon.
- While it’s in the ball, immediately let go of your first finger that was holding over the berry menu, which will, in turn, open the Poke Ball menu you slid open. Then, quickly tap the top left of the screen where the Escape icon would be, just a couple of times to mash out of the encounter.
- Check the surrounding area map once out of the encounter. If you performed the Quick Catch successfully, the Pokemon you tried to catch should appear on the map for a brief second, before disappearing. Check your Pokemon menu to confirm you’ve caught it.
While a bit tricky and requiring a degree of finesse, you’ll notice that skipping the catch animations makes catching Pokemon far easier, especially if you don’t have a Go Plus device.
