Hogwarts Legacy How to unlock eye chest

Hogwarts Legacy: How to Open Eye Chests

You can open the eyeball chests in Hogwarts Legacy by casting Disillusionment and sneaking up on them. Getting too close to these chests will normally alert them, at which point they’ll lock themselves and prevent you from accessing their treasure. However, if they can’t see you, they won’t lock, and you’ll be able to grab the gold inside.

How to unlock the eye chests in Hogwarts Legacy

To open the eye chests in Hogwarts Legacy:

  • Make sure you’re far enough away from them that they haven’t noticed you and locked.
  • If the chest has locked, just walk away from it, and it’ll unlock itself.
  • Cast Disillusionment on yourself.
  • Walk up to the chest and press the button to open it when prompted.

Each eye chest contains 500 gold, making them a great source of money. So it’s well worth it to go out of your way to open one.

You’ll notice eye chests before you’re able to open them. You don’t get the Disillusionment spell until the “Secrets of the Restricted Section” quest, which will take a few hours to reach after the game starts.

Alternatively, you could use an Invisibility Potion to sneak up on the eye chests. After all, you can purchase Invisibility Potions as soon as you have access to Hogsmeade. However, since they cost 500 gold, you’d only be breaking even by using them to open the chests, which makes this a bad investment.

Now that you’ve figured out this quandary, find out how to open the number doors.
