Forspoken Yellow Crystal Rocks

Forspoken: What to Do With Yellow Crystal Rocks Sticking Out of Cliffs

In Forspoken, you’ll see yellow crystal rocks on the sides of cliffs everywhere you go. These are used as anchors for the Zip spell, but you’ll see the stones with yellow crystals long before you get that ability. Fortunately, once you have it, these stones become very useful.

What do the rocks with yellow crystals do in Forspoken?

Forspoken Zip Yellow Crystal Rocks

The yellow crystal rocks are a method of transportation in Forspoken. You’ll be propelled upward when you use Zip on the shorter ones, and the longer, thinner ones will shoot you forward. These stones usually come in clusters and can help you climb cliffs that you couldn’t parkour up otherwise.

You won’t be able to use the yellow crystal stones in Forspoken until after you defeat Tanta Sila in Chapter 5: “Might and Main.” As Chapter 6: “Damned If You Do…” starts, you get a tutorial on how to use Zip. However, if you forgot, it’s a relatively easy maneuver:

  1. Hold Square (or X on an Xbox controller), and an aiming reticle will appear
  2. Use the left stick to highlight a target (like one of the aforementioned rocks)
  3. Release the button to execute a Zip

Unfortunately, Zip can be a bit finicky in Forspoken, and it takes some practice to perform them consecutively. However, once you get the hang of it, you can travel to new heights and traverse Athia more efficiently.
