During your first Persona 5 cutscene in a classroom at school, you will be asked the following question:

A soul is composed of appetite, spirit, and?

This question references Plato’s tripartite theory of soul, which is a theory of psyche introduced in his treatise called Republic, written around 380 BCE. In this work, Plato introduces the understanding of the human soul as three parts.
