She-Hulk Episode 6: Who Are the Intelligencia?

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law may not have introduced Matt Murdock aka Daredevil to the series in episode 6 as predicted, but there were a couple of surprises that had Marvel fans raising an eyebrow. One of those was of course Mr. Immortal, but comic book readers also took note when the website Intelligencia was talked about, and then shown. Here, we delve into what this could mean for the future of the MCU, as well as who could be leading the charge against Jen Walters…

Who are the Intelligencia?

In She-Hulk, the Intelligencia seems to simply be a collection of trolls and keyboard warriors who have a hatred for She-Hulk. Not only do they create memes to poke fun at our titular hero, but they post messages online suggesting that she should be killed, and asking for tips and tricks as to how She-Hulk could be vulnerable to attack. Some might say that this sort of behavior simply comes with the territory, but it is the name Intelligencia that has many wondering about whether their threats could actually be followed through with action.

In Marvel Comics, the Intelligencia was a group originally created so that information could be exchanged between criminal geniuses across Earth-616. Members have included M.O.D.O.K. Superior, the Wizard, the Red Ghost and his Super-Apes, the Chameleon disguised as Klaw, the Mad Thinker and his Awesome Android, and even General Ross who would be turned into the Red Hulk. Their smarts meant that they were able to defeat the Hulk, but their plans of conquering the world fell short.

Will the Intelligencia officially join the MCU?

Now that the name Intelligencia has been dropped, there’s the possibility that the group could be a part of a future Phase in the MCU. Currently, Kang the Conqueror, who was first introduced in the Disney Plus series Loki, appears to be the next Big Bad. Marvel Studios are known for dropping hints and clues as to where their series will go in the years to come, however, so it could be that this episode of She-Hulk laid the foundations for the Intelligencia to begin forming. If that is the case, we could be yet to witness the MCU’s most powerful, villainous beings.

Currently though, it is the unknown element studying She-Hulk that Jen should be worried about. They sent the Wrecking Crew after her back in episode 3 to try and gain a sample of her blood, and while they failed in that attempt, it appears that they have now created a syringe that is capable of piercing her skin. The next few episodes of the series are going to be very interesting indeed.
