After the monumental launch of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, Amazon Prime Video has its work cut out to maintain interest in its other content. Fortunately, the streaming platform has a lot of exciting content heading our way. Here are all of the new films and TV shows coming to Amazon Prime Video this week.
What is coming to Amazon Prime Video this week (September 5-11)?
Along with The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power episode 3 hitting the Prime Video streaming service this week, comes the debut of the American Gigolo series, via the SHOWTIME banner. Having spent 15 years in prison for a crime he did not commit, former gigolo Julian Kaye is released. But with no idea who framed him and no interest in the life he once had, he is left struggling when it comes to choosing a new path.
This week also sees the release of the French-Canadian musical, Aline. This fictionalized portrayal of the life of Céline Dion sees Valérie Lemercier step into the titular role, of a Canadian singer who becomes internationally renowned. Whilst Lemercier plays Aline at every stage of her life, thanks to digital adjustments, the singing in the film is performed by French artist, Victoria Sio.
