The Last of Us Part 1 What Happens to Joel and Ellie between Pittsburgh and Jackson

The Last of Us Part 1: What Happened With Joel and Ellie Between Pittsburgh and Jackson?

While playing The Last of Us Part 1, I started wondering what happened to Joel and Ellie between Pittsburgh and Jackson. That’s a huge gap to leave in the story, as there’s almost 2,000 miles between those two places. I figured there must be a comic or at least a comment from the devs about what they were up to in the month or so it’d likely take to get there. Unfortunately, there’s no explanation I could find for what happened during this gap.

What happened to Joel and Ellie between Pittsburgh and Jackson in The Last of Us Part 1?

There’s no way of knowing what happened to Joel and Ellie as they traveled from Pittsburgh to Jackson in The Last of Us Part 1. It wasn’t shown in-game, and the two didn’t even discuss it at any point. It must have been a pretty long hike, especially since Ellie seemed surprised to see horses when they reached the hydroelectric dam, so what gives?

Obviously, Naughty Dog skipped to the interesting part for pacing reasons. However, it’d have been great if some info about that part of their journey was added to The Last of Us Part 1. For now, we’ll just have to use our imagination and assume nothing noteworthy happened to them.
