The Last of Us Part 1 Review 4

Does The Last of Us Part 1 Have New Game Plus?

The Last of Us Part 1 has a New Game Plus mode. It lets you replay the game while carrying over most of the progress you made on your first playthrough. However, there are some caveats to the mode you’ll want to keep in mind.

What Progress Carries Over in New Game Plus in The Last of Us Part 1?

The Last of Us Part 1 Tool Locations

You’ll retain the following when starting a New Game Plus game in The Last of Us Part 1:

  • Tool Levels
  • Skill Levels
  • Weapon Upgrades
  • Collectibles
    • Firefly Pendants
    • Comics
    • Notes
  • Training Manuals

The biggest thing to note is that you don’t start with all weapons. You’ll need to find them in the same places you do in the first game. However, once you pick them up, they’ll be at the same level of upgrades they were in your previous playthrough.

Is there new content in New Game Plus?

Unfortunately, New Game Plus doesn’t contain any new content. Instead, it’s meant for you to either enjoy the game again or as a way to obtain collectibles you missed before. All the items mentioned in the section above will continue to carry over to further New Game Plus playthroughs, so you can keep shooting for that perfect safe file.
