I’ve got twelve silver sovereigns in my pocket and a hat full of dreams.” This is one of the film’s musical numbers, and it illustrates a lot about what the movie may be about.
The film is set to follow a younger Wonka before he opened up his chocolate factory, so it will serve as an origin story of sorts. Wonka’s backstory is that he creates a chocolate factory but has to close it down due to all of the other chocolatiers trying to steal his candy-making secrets.
